Norefjell hosted the alpine skiing competitions on behalf of the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952. Geilo is Norways oldest winter destination, Hemsedal the 2nd largest. This region has long and solid traditions in welcoming skiers!
Hemsedal, Geilo and Norefjell are the largest destinations you might select to go to when visiting Buskerud. They all have the best and varied selection in slopes and lifts, for all levels of skiers.
In these areas, like in valleys Numedal and Hallingdal too, you can also combine downhill skiing with cross-country skiing. For those who seek a holiday on skis outside the crowded areas, smaller destinations like Blefjell, Gol and Ål is highly reccommended.
